Kite surfing: Marazion Wind Direction: SSE Wind Stength: 10-20 knots Surf / Sea State: small waves Air Temperature: 14C Sea Temperature: coldish Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Wind was a bit fitfull for most of the day. Neil managed to get out on his
20m - as Neil does. Then 4ish the wind strengthened and there was a mad
scamble into the water.
I went waaay out beyond St Michaels Mount, to get out of the wind shadow.
Wind even stronger out there and fully powered in the big swell.
Had a rather nasty moment when I went too close to the island, suffered a
total wind failure and the kite dropped out of the air. Spent about 20
minutes or so bobbing around in an ebbing tide with the kite just flopping
around in the water. Was just about to give up and pack down - and wait for
Neils chums in the rescue srevices - when I found a bit of wind and managed
to relaunch.
Went back towards the shore and joined Jon, Rich and Daz to finsh a great
little session as the sun set over the Cornish hills - well good!
